Tested side by side these 2 great cameras using identical set ups to establish lens sweet spot at 25mm and 600mm to then run ISO comparisons followed by video tests at ISO 320 on each camera at 25mm and best lens setting.The results are very similar for stills mode with both cameras failing to achieve a satisfactory still image above iso 400 using in camera jpeg processing and with -2 noise reduction and 1 sharpening applied. ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 are just appalling with no luminance detail showing in the painterly like colour rendering.It shows the f2.8 lens is respectable in performance and with a sweet spot (as expected) at f4.5 in these tests. F8 aperture produces refraction and loss of detail in both cameras so is best avoided if you want the sharpest images.In video mode the processing within the FZ00 seem to deliver better results.
