I look at choosing the right recording format and quality and illustrate some of the effects of the parameters which can be changed in each of the modes. I illustrate the focus modes available and then take a look at using the Manual White Balance control to set the camera up for use in mixed lighting conditions.In part 2 I will look at the choices for microphones and discuss the mechanics of recording using tripods, sliders and cranes. I then take a detailed look at the effects of the different codecs used in recording and avoiding some common mistakes. Finally wrapping up with a look at addition lighting to help in poor ambient light.
